Electric recharging stations for mass distribution
The only thing missing is information on totems placed near conventional service stations, those delivering fossil fuels: the price of recharging your electric vehicle, which is usually equal to 0! However, it would be an additional source of motivation to be able to compare the price of a litre of premium diesel with that of a quick recharge! For once, the installation of electric recharging stations for food and specialist retailing is not something that is customary in Germany.
Signs fill the cart and the batteries.
You are the proud owner of an electric car and are delighted to see the number of terminals multiplying in all public and private parking areas in cities and rural areas. What can we say about the multiplication of recharging stations for mass distribution if not that the initiatives form an ever-increasing wave. A tsunami? Probably. How can we turn back the clock? All the major GSA and GSD brands understand their commercial interest in the growing market for electric cars. There are more than 100 000 circulating in France. And what would be a better time to recharge the batteries with weekly or monthly races?
Quick charging stations
Of course this average running time of 23 minutes (2 hours 45 minutes weekly) only allows for quick recharges. The latter allow for charges to 80% of the battery capacity. The most competitive time is 30 minutes. This is very sufficient to drive in total autonomy of the car (or almost!). And as the supermarkets are the champion in all categories of the length of the range, you will also find "slow" or "fast" recharging stations in their car parks. These are slower... than fast recharges, but they are very useful once the car has reached a certain autonomy just to finish its journey.
Boundaries and energy to offer!
When it comes to checkout, you can count on the leaders in mass distribution! And yet if you refill your "cash register" in one of their car parks, you won't pay a penny. The price of recharging electric cars varies according to the distributor. Not all of them offer energy, but it is rare. Competition forces. Lidl, Auchan, Ikea offer their energy in fast recharges with high quality terminals in terms of power. Other retailers give preference to holders of their loyalty card or a free card to be purchased in stores. Other distributors also offer them for free or at very low prices, but in order to take advantage of them, you need to be a holder of the store card or a specific free card that you can ask for at the point of sale. As far as Auchan is concerned, another solution exists with the partnership of the manufacturer of your car: it consists in the use of a badge with a free or symbolic subscription.
The challenges of electric charging stations for retail distribution
We were hoping that the major retailers would understand the challenges of electric charging stations for GD. The most dynamic as always are those with space in huge car parks with heavy traffic. Some signs have already installed several hundred terminals all over the country, but be careful with the maintenance of equipment that, like conventional pumps, requires demanding maintenance. The pack of signs is led by Ikea, Super U, E. Leclerc, Carrefour, Lidl, Intermarché, Auchan, Casino, Cora... It was to be expected. So, don't forget our advice, recharge your car without wasting time, without going to the cash register. It's so nice!
